Born from the founders and organizers of Redhanded and creators of Dusty Trattoria, La Famiglia brings together artists, builders, dreamers, and romantics who believe that art is not something you simply observe. It is something you inhabit.
We create immersive environments rooted in Italian aesthetics, craftsmanship, and the culture of gathering. We don’t just build structures, we build places where magic happens.
Redhanded: Community First
La Famiglia grew out of Redhanded, our long-standing theme camp: a Victorian-period oasis where elegance meets playful mischief. Founded in 2023, Redhanded offers immersive atmosphere, unforgettable parties, and meaningful support to the community.
Our mission is focused on providing period supplies and essential care resources on Playa, promoting dignity, inclusion, and body positivity. Comfort is part of our gifting ethos, hospitality is our language. Redhanded is glamorous yet radically welcoming, refined but joyful. A place where empowerment, humor, and community meet.
Dusty Trattoria: Where It All Began
Dusty Trattoria debuted at Burning Man 2025 and shares the same lead artists and lead builder with Dusty Corner of the Capital. A tiny wooden Italian restaurant in deep Playa became an unexpected gathering place for shared meals and spontaneous magic. People came for the atmosphere and stayed for the connection.
The space felt warm and intimate against the vast desert. Laughter spilled into the dust. Strangers shared a table. And yes, from pizza to lasagna burners tasted some of the most delicious homemade Italian food ever served on Playa.
Dusty Trattoria proved something powerful: hospitality is art and cultural storytelling resonates deeply in Black Rock City. Dusty Corner of the Capital grows from that experience. From a single table to an entire piazza.
